THE GENESIS OF BARNABAS PROJECT
The Bible says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falls: for he had not another to help him up". Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Keeping the importance of this Bible verse in view, we began our work under two consecutive tiers of agreement:
A memorandum of Understanding was signed between Chakhesang Baptist Church Council and windsor Part Baptist Church on 27th March, 2004, to extend God's kingdom in this part of the world.
Chakhesang Mission Society entered another partnership agreement with Nepal Baptist Church Council on 19th February 2005, focusing on western part of Nepal to plant new indigenous Baptist Churches.
Mandate: The Bible gives us the message to proclaim. It shows us the way to proclaim, empowering us to redeem the lost and reclaim His kingdom.
We did not choose Him; He has chosen us. John 15:16
The Project is holistic and a process oriented missions. In the process of ministry, we go to the people and collect relevant information and gain more information on the ground reality.
Our finding in the mission field shows that many services rendered by the government and other non governmental organisation are not reaping satisfactory results due to lack of encouragement in Nepal.
Therefore, it is our strong belief that encouragement is not optional; it is a must to address the requirement of the people satisfactorily.
So, we have chosen the name Barnabas which means son of encogement.
We adopt following terms to be our core value and quiding principle for the encouragement:
B - Biblical authority.
A - Angelic duty
R - Renewal and Revival
N - Never give up
A - Anointed leadership
B - Brave and Bold
A - Always for the better
S - Servanthood and selflessness.
Aims and object:
The Project has twin objectives: We feed the Churches with the whole gospel. At the same time, we also equip them through various skill development programmes to make the Churches self supporting, self governing, and self propogating. We also aim to train the Churches to reach the oppressed people through the acts of love. The ultimate desire of the project is to see a new Nepal free from discrimination and social injustices through the power of God
The nature: It is holistic and do the ministry as a body of body Christ (1 Cor 12:27) with different functions of partners and co-workers in the cross cultural environment under collective visions. The project is also popularly known as an Institute of research work as per the agreement. We spell the partnershrip in terms of unity and holiness of God through direct relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mission stragety: We strive to enter the minds and thoughs of the People through prayers, enculturation, preaching, teaching, healing, philanthropy.and traininngs
